Rowing machine fitness?

Question by grr509: Rowing machine fitness?
I am a junior rower looking to get my split time down. Are they any good exercises or regimes to help with this??

the rowing machine will definitely help you build up stamina so go ahead and start a routine on that. but the other thing that will help you out tremendously is weight training your core and upper body. weight training will increase muscle power so that you will be able to row harder than you could before. the rowing machine will help with your stamina so you can row harder and longer than ever before.

  1. You gotta get on that erg. The rowing machine is it. Make sure you extend and pull back as far as you can. Remember fluid motion is important to bring down the splits.
