are weight limits conservative on rowing machines?

I was looking at a Kettler Kaddett rowing machine and max weight limit is 275 and i am 310. if someone is 35 lbs past the weight limit will machines generally break or just not work right? also how conservative are they on paper, are they 50 lbs under test weight or 20 pounds under [...]
